HYUNDAI Motor Co. continued its triumphant streak at the World Car Awards (WCA), clinching yet another victory as the Ioniq 5 N high-performance electric vehicle (EV) secured the coveted title of 2024 World Performance Car.

The announcement of the winners took place during the 2024 New York International Auto Show with Hyundai Motor Co.'s multiple nominations reflecting its growing prominence on the global stage. This latest triumph followed the back-to-back triple victories of Hyundai's Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 in 2022 and 2023 across various categories at the WCA.
José Muñoz, president and global chief operating officer of Hyundai Motor Co., conveyed his gratitude to the WCA jury on behalf of the entire N team, highlighting the brand's commitment to delivering high-performance vehicles that captivated and inspired enthusiasts. Introduced in July 2023 as Hyundai N's inaugural EV, the Ioniq 5 N heralded a new era of driver-focused high-performance EVs, showcasing cutting-edge technologies and elevated racetrack capabilities. It represented the first step in N's electrification strategy, seamlessly integrating the Electric Global Modular Platform with N's motorsport-bred technologies to maximize high-performance capabilities.
