THE distinguished gathering of the 2024 Outstanding Women in Law Enforcement and National Security (Owlens) awarding ceremony shed light on the remarkable accomplishments of women, dedicated to the protection of the nation.
Held at the Quezon City Sports Club on March 21, this event welcomed esteemed guests, dignitaries and representatives from diverse sectors, paying tribute to the courage, dedication and resolute commitment of outstanding individuals.
The success of the event was made possible through the generous support of partners and major sponsors Robinsons Land Corp. and Rhodium 688 Builders Inc.
The focal point of the ceremony was the awards segment, where the 2024 Owlens recipients were acknowledged for their exceptional contributions.
Noteworthy awardees included Mae Ann Cunanan, Arlene Fragé, Cynthia Forteza-Guinto, Lei Vanette Alangui, Ann Marie Gerodiaz, Rosa Ma. Cristina Rosete-Manuel, Aidalyn Bustamante Barrido, Aileen Sarol Zara, Cielo Rose Dolorican and Alma Gran Abacahin.
Representing the awardees, Forteza-Guinto delivered a heartfelt acceptance speech, acknowledging the dedication and resilience of women in these fields.
Speaking on behalf of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benjamin "Benhur" Abalos, Jr. delivered an inspirational message, emphasizing the invaluable role of women in law enforcement and national security.
Abalos was honored with a plaque of appreciation at the conclusion of the ceremony. DILG Assistant Secretary Epimaco Densing 3rd and Republic Defenders President Eddie Choa presented the plaque.
The 2024 Owlens ceremony served as a beacon of empowerment and acknowledgment for the remarkable achievements of women in safeguarding the nation.
