AN out of control container truck crashed into a tricycle, killing its two passengers along Manila North Road (Mac Arthur Highway) in Barangay Wakas, Bocaue, Bulacan on Monday afternoon.

The police identified the victims, who died on the spot, as Laureano Mendoza, 50, the driver, and his live-in partner, Jennifer Tarog, 51, both residents of Barangay Caingin, Bocaue, Bulacan.

A police report said the victims were riding a tricycle at around 2:15 p.m. when they were hit by an Isuzu tractor head truck with plate number RLX-142 and driven by Juanito Singson Jr., 38, a resident of Tabing Ilog, Libtong, City of Meycauayan, Bulacan.

Aside from dragging the tricycle and its passengers for several meters, the police said the truck also hit five other vehicles in the area.

No other persons were reported hurt in the accident.

The driver said the truck lost its break and could not avoid the vehicles on its path.

The suspect is facing multiple charges and is currently detained at the Bocaue Police Station.
