THE Clark Development Corp. (CDC) welcomes United Parcel Service (UPS) expansion efforts at Clark Airport, recognizing its potential benefits to the region.

This move is poised to further bolster the ease of doing business within the Clark Freeport Zone and Clark Special Economic Zone, enhancing operational efficiency and logistics capabilities.

With UPS' expansion, the movement of services and goods is expected to be significantly improved and streamlined across various points of origin and consumption, optimizing supply chain operations.

CDC President and CEO Agnes Devanadera lauds the anticipated positive impacts of UPS' expansion in Clark, said Chairman Josephine Gotianun Yap of Luzon International Premiere Airport Development Corp. (Lipad).

Yap highlights the UPS and Lipad partnership as a key step in positioning Clark as a top logistics hub for global brands.

Lipad, which operates Clark International Airport, looks forward to hosting UPS and supporting its expansion in the Philippines.

UPS' new hub and network enhancements will expedite transit times for imports, exports, and trans-shipments, representing the latest in a series of investments by UPS in its Asia-Pacific network to accommodate trade lane shifts.

With over a quarter of a billion US dollars committed since 2023, the new hub is slated for full operation by 2026, according to its latest news.

"Asia-Pacific continues to be one of UPS' fastest-growing regions. UPS has continued to invest in our network to maximize speed and flexibility, build solutions addressing the shift of global trade lanes, and offer resilience for our customers," said UPS Asia-Pacific President Wilfredo Ramos.
