Lacsina to ease up, spends Holy Week break with Deanna Wong

MANILA, Philippines: Ivy Lacsina will use a much-needed rest and spend her time with her partner Deanna Wong this Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Holy Week break.

In an interview with the Manila Times, Lacsina shared she will recharge and recalibrate this league's break to be prepared for their upcoming games.

"Oh yes, it's a 'D' (Deanna) day. Vacation, rest from volleyball, freshen up, and I will return and fight again," Lacsina said while looking and waiting for Wong's cue.

"Our plans this week...we will just be together, most of the time I will just be with Deanna."

Lacsina made her best performance in this conference after chiming in 20 markers in a loss to Chery Tiggo, 25-23, 23-25, 16-25, 20-25, last Tuesday, March 26.

The Nxled's prized acquisition shared that she has mixed feelings about their game result.

"Well, 50-50. I am happy because I applied what coach taught me, but also I am sad since we did not win. It's like it's not enough."

For Coach Taka Minowa, he wants the team to have a "volleyball break" this Holy Week.

"I just tell them to go somewhere, to refresh, because they already have pressure from the social media. I told them to not see (watch) volleyball, it is good timing since UAAP does not have games either," he said.

The Japanese coach has a different approach to how will his squad have their break.

"No watching of volleyball until Saturday," Minowa said while smiling

After this break, Nxled will face the winless Strong Group Athletics on Thursday, April 4, at the PhilSports Arena, at 6 p.m.
