MANILA, Philippines: National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Secretary Arsenio Balisacan said he experienced the "longest ride of his life" when he got stuck in an elevator for nearly two hours on his way to a signing ceremony on Thursday.
"I was trapped in an elevator for one hour and 40 miniutes but it was competently managed," Balisacan said during his speech at the signing of the implementing rules and regulations (IRR) of the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Code.
Balisacan shared photos of him and his NEDA team stuck at a 50-storey office building in Pasig City, where he and several government agencies were to sign the IRR of the PPP Code.
The PPP Code, part of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s Philippine Development Plan 2023 to 2028, was signed on Thursday by the NEDA, the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), the PPP Center, the Department of Finance (DoF), and the private sector.
