Magnolia top gunner Paul Lee will be aiming for his second straight Three-Point Shootout crown when the PBA's 2024 All-Star Festivities begin this Saturday, March 23, at the University of St. La Salle gym in Bacolod City.
The 35-year-old Lee had a spectacular All-Star last season after ruling the long distance shootout, while emerging as All-Star Game Most Valuable Player as well in Passi, Iloilo.
This year's Three-Point shootout though is loaded with solid long-distance snipers, who are out to dethrone the "Lee-thal Weapon" from his lofty position.
Leading the hungry pack of shooters out to give Lee a run for his money are NorthPort's Arvin Tolentino, Ginebra's Maverick Ahanmisi, Converge's Alec Stockton, Meralco's Chris Newsome, San Miguel's Marcio Lassiter, NLEX's Rob Herndon, Phoenix's Ken Tuffin, Rain or Shine's Andrei Caracut, Terrafirma's Javi Gomez de Liano and TNT's Calvin Oftana.
Lassiter, at 36, remains a formidable foe for Lee after shooting 81.7 percent from long range during his first two games in the Philippine Cup.
Meanwhile, an additional exciting sides for the Skills Event this year is the battle among the bigs featuring Perkins, Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser, Sean Anthony, JM Calma, Mo Tautuaa, Isaac Go, Keith Zaldivar, Ralph Cu, Christian David, Brandon Bates and Santi Santillan and James Laput.
The skills events are slated this Saturday, serving as appetizers to the Blitz Game among the PBA rookies, sophomores and juniors.
