MANILA, Philippines: Maximum temperatures will be felt in the country in the coming days as the northeast monsoon or "amihan" continues to weaken, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Saturday.
Based on the three-day extended weather outlook, Pagasa said the easterlies will become the dominant weather system, which means that major cities like Baguio City, Legazpi and Metro Manila would be expected to record maximum temperatures, starting at noon until the afternoon.
It will be fair weather in most parts of the country, including Metro Manila, with chances of light rains still caused by amihan over the next 24 hours, according to Pagasa.
It will be hot and humid with chances of thunderstorms in the afternoon or at night in Metro Cebu, Iloilo City and Tacloban in Visayas and Metro Davao, Cagayan de Oro and Zamboanga, in Mindanao due to easterlies.
"No low pressure area is being monitored inside and outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility that may affect our country in the next coming days," Pagasa weather specialist Daniel James Villamil said.
No gale warning was issued on Saturday, which means it is safe for small seacraft.
