STUDENTS from the Department of Animal Science of the Cavite State University College of Agriculture, Food, Environment and Natural Resources (CvSU-CAFENR) emerged as the overall champion and "Hayop sa Galing" in the practical examination in the 9th National Animal Science Quiz held at the University of the Philippines- Los Baños from March 4 to 8.

The CvSU contingent, composed of Meinard Cucal, Abib Tantiangco, Zaira Marey Soriano and Marie Ysabel Manzano, won over 16 participating state universities and colleges from Luzon, the Visayas and Mindanao. They were coached by professors Ma. Cecille Anuada and Karl Louisse Obispo.

As the overall champion, the CvSU team received P50,000 in cash. Central Luzon State University in second place received P30,000, and Mindanao State University-Naawan Campus received P20,000 in third place.
