NAVAL, Biliran: The Department of Public Works and Highways-Biliran District Engineering Office (DPWH-BDEO) reported on Thursday that the access road project in Barangay Canila here is already 61.53% complete.

CONTRIBUTED PHOTO The P35-million project aims to provide direct access from Barangay Pinangumhan to Barangay Canila, which is located 305.2 meters or 1,001.3 feet above sea level.It involves the creation of a 1.1-kilometer two-lane concrete road with drainage system and slope protection structures.OIC-District Engineer Irwin Antonio said the road will provide the farmers and traders a more efficient means of transporting their agricultural products.Antonio also expects the area to attract tourists because of its scenic view from the top.The project has a target completion date of March 30, 2024.
