Team PH's Gamez, Korovin earn ticket to world championship

ONCE again, Team Philippines impressed the world with outstanding performances on the ice at the prestigious International Skating Union Four Continents Figure Skating Championships (ISU 4CC) in Shanghai, China.

The remarkable figure skating duo, Isabella Gamez and Alexander Korovin, secured the 11th position at the esteemed ISU 4CC, held at the Shanghai Pudong Development Bank Oriental Sports Center from January 30 to February 4.

Combining results from last year's world championships in Saitama, Japan and the free skating event at the ISU 4CC, their impressive technical element scores were 29.30 and 46.45 respectively, securing their place in the 2025 World Figure Skating Championship.

This world championship played a significant role in the qualification for the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy.

Filipino Canadian Edrian Celestino also ranked 18th in the men's individual figure skating segment.

In the women's individual figure skating segment, two-time Philippine national champion Sofia Frank placed 19th and was scheduled to compete next at the Junior World Figure Skating Championship in Taipei, Taiwan, celebrating her third year representing the Philippines.

Team Philippines was ready to take on to its next journey, making a great impact on young Filipino figure skaters and sending best wishes to all incredible skaters in their next competitions.
