MANILA, Philippines: Cignal HD overcame a first set hiccup against Akari, 21-25, 25-18, 25-12, 25-18, to bag its first win in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) 2024 All-Filipino Conference at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Saturday, February 24.

Vanie Gandler made 19 points from 18 attacks and an ace, while Roselyn Doria and Jovelyn Fernandez added 16 points each to fend off Akari.

Dawn Macandili-Catindig took care of Cignal's floor defense after tallying 22 excellent digs, and 11 excellent receptions.

"I am grateful, I felt the trust of our coaches. Even though we had a slow start I can feel that coach (Shaq Delos Santos) still trusted us that we can bounce back," Macandili-Catindig said.

Gretchel Soltones' 14-point outing and Dindin Manabat's 12-point performance were not enough to respond to the offensive guns of Cignal.
