DoST announces funding for researchers and inventors

THE Department of Science and Technology (DoST) is ready to fund research and development of inventions that could help the country.

The DoST has been conducting a series of call conferences with researchers and inventors for possible collaboration.

"This series of call conferences for 2024 that we first held in Visayas and Mindanao is primarily designed for us to reach out with our local researchers and inventors all over the Philippines," Undersecretary for Research and Development Leah Buendia said.

Buendia said that the department will finance projects aligned with the socioeconomic agenda of the government.

The DoST allocated P11.5 billion for the initiative.

"That is why we continue going around to encourage research and development innovators and inventors that the funds are available and we are only waiting for them to submit their proposals which could be the solutions to the problems hounding the country," Buendia added.
