NLEX added depth into its backcourt after officially signing three-time PBA All-Star guard Baser Amer.
Terms of the deal were not divulged, though NLEX team governor Ronald Dulatre confirmed the deal with the 31-year-old former San Beda guard through a post in his Facebook account.
Amer, a two-time Southeast Asian Games men's basketball gold medalist, failed to reach a new deal with Blackwater recently after his contract expired on January 15.
The Bossing released the seventh overall pick in the 2015 PBA Rookie Draft, allowing him to negotiate a deal with the Road Warriors, who are looking to bolster their backcourt after being decimated by injuries in the Commissioner's Cup.
While Amer himself has been limited with the Bossing in their Commissioner's Cup campaign due to injury, the sweet-shooting Davaoeño will look to have a reboot of his PBA career at NLEX.
Amer just played five games in the Commissioner's Cup, averaging just 4.2 points and 1.2 rebounds for Blackwater, which only won once in 11 games.
Amer's arrival at NLEX reunites him with Frankie Lim, his college coach back at San Beda.
