BS Bio magna cum laude leads 594 CLSU graduates

IT is all systems go for the Central Luzon State University (CLSU) in Muñoz, Nueva Ecija, for the holding of its 33rd Midyear Commencement Exercises at the Dr. Pedro A. Abella Graduation Site tomorrow, Friday, Feb. 16, 2024.

With the theme "Generating Knowledge, Cultivating Partnerships and Nurturing Entrepreneurial Skills in Advancing Agricultural Innovations," CLSU has 594 graduands.

The CLSU Strategic Communication Office (StratCom) said the commencement exercise will be livestreamed via the CLSU official Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/clsuofficialpage.

StratCom noted that among the graduands, 111 will receive academic honors and special awards to be led by Angelica Quitalig, a Bachelor of Science in Biology student.

Quitalig achieved the highest academic honor and will graduate magna cum laude with a general weighted average of 1.31. As class valedictorian, she addressed her fellow graduates during the Tea Party and Recognition Program on Wednesday, February 14.

StratCom said the graduating class includes 283 graduands from the College of Agriculture, the highest number among the academic degrees, followed by the College of Engineering with 126 graduands.

There are 29 graduands from the College of Arts and Social Sciences, 15 from the College of Business Administration and Accountancy, 18 from the College of Education, 36 from the College of Fisheries, 11 from the College of Home Science and Industry, 58 from the College of Science, two from the College of Veterinary Science and Medicine, and 16 from the Distance, Open and Transnational University.

Today, February 15, an ecumenical and baccalaureate service is also held as part of the graduation ceremonies "to celebrate the success of the golden grains before they join the roll of work-ready CLSUans," StratCom said.
