A FENG shui expert said on Saturday that 2024, the Year of the Wood Dragon in the Lunar Year, would be marked by many "breakups."

Speaking at an event at the SM North Edsa, Master Hanz Michael Cua said the wood element in the wood dragon is "like a tall tree, so it takes time to grow; it's not rushed." He said, however, that the dragon has a lot of energy and "acts fast."

"Wood signifies planning, being strategic, but the dragon is always in attack mode. It doesn't have time to overthink. It plans but executes immediately," said Cua.

He said these opposing characteristics might result in many more separations this year, compared with the number of breakups in 2023, referring to celebrities Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, Kim Chiu and Xian Lim, and Sarah Lahbati and Richard Gutierrez, among others.

The same may happen to ordinary couples, especially those who have been together for a long time, and between bosses and their employees. The energy on the homefront and workplace is "in the realm of anger," said Cua.

Who are lucky, who are not in 2024

Cua said those born in the year of the Dragon, Monkey and Rat have the money star.

"For Dragons, invest in health. For Monkeys, there's a love star and a baby star, so it's lucky for a baby to be born this year. Business expansion is also favorable this year. For Rats, the money star is very strong, so be hands-on in career and business," Cua said.

He said it is a "year of opportunity" for those born in the year of the Ox.

He warned that those born in the year of the snake must watch their health.

Roosters, said Cua, are among "the luckiest this year because they are friends with the dragon, and it is also good for them to have a baby born now."

Rabbits, on the other hand, have the "victory and success star."

"So if people who are born in this year are negotiating something, they will be successful," he said.

Goats will have "many accomplishments and outputs this year," while a "love star" can be found for those in the Year of the Pig.

Tigers and Horses, he said, have "power and influence" this year. Tigers, in particular, have a "heaven blessing" star, which is "very good for money."

Although Horses will enjoy "power and influence" this year, Cua warned them to be "careful of cheating" and to "be cautious of betrayal."

"In terms of money, they might be scammed, so if it seems too good to be true, verify first," he said.

Lastly, Cua said, "Dogs are directly opposed to the year of the dragon; they are conflict animals."

"In terms of money, don't be aggressive; think carefully. In love life, having a baby is not advised. In relationships and work, lengthen your patience to avoid problems," Cua said.

For the New Year, Cua recommended everyone to "declutter and do general cleaning and make homes bright and happy so that luck will enter."

He said plates and glasses with cracks are "not lucky, so it is better to fix or replace them to remove the negativity from the house."
