5 PNU students complete teaching assistantship in Taiwan

FIVE education students of the Philippine Normal University (PNU) have completed their Teaching Assistantship and Cultural Immersion Program (TACIP) held at the American Language Village (AVL) Camp in Hsinchu County, Taiwan, according to PNU President Bert Tuga.

They are Diana Sara Andres, Laura Lei Agcaoili, Antonio Jose Maliwat, Storm Joy Gayatao and Exequiel Josh Manalili. Dr. Noemi Zulieta of the PNU Student Affairs and Services Office served as their faculty chaperon.

The TACIP stems from the 2023 memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed by PNU and AVL.

AVL Camp is a prominent English language learning student camp in Taiwan established in 1992.

It provides the selected teacher assistants with an all-expenses-paid arrangement including allowances for travel and souvenirs.

Each teacher assistant is responsible for various activities such as facilitating art, sport, and dance activities; teaching English, and overseeing the socio-emotional needs of the students.

The camp activities embody its motto of "Learning in Action," fostering English communication through diverse activities such as art, dance, archery, sports, barbeque and climbing.
