Cadiz City open for investors

BACOLOD CITY: Cadiz City in Negros Occidental is now an open city for investors.

This was declared by Cadiz City Mayor Salvador Escalante Jr. on Sunday, January 28.

Escalante said that three to four solar farms will soon rise to provide the city with additional sources of energy aside from the existing ones being operated by an Indian company.

Cadiz will also build a 1,000-megawatt substation for the production of solar energy, the mayor added.

"The entry of investors paved the way for the rapid development of Cadiz City," Escalante said.

Escalante also said that there are groups that began planting 1.2 million coffee and coconut trees in 1,500 hectares of land which he described as a big thing in the reforestation campaign.

"Another investor is putting up a feed mill plant," he said, adding that Cadiz City is producing around two million chickens and P120 million worth of cattle per year.

Escalante also said that its agricultural lands are "ready for investment."

To lure more investors, Escalante said the local government has started to invest in road concreting projects two to three years ago.
