11 new funeral chapels inaugurated

THE city government of Las Piñas inaugurated 11 new funeral chapels at the Las Piñas City Public Crematorium and Columbarium on Thursday, January 25, in Barangay Ilaya.

The inauguration of the 11 funeral chapels was led by Mayor Imelda Aguilar and Vice Mayor April Aguilar.

The mayor said the inauguration of the new funeral chapels marks the expansion of the city government's essential services to its residents.

The city's columbarium has a total of 3,500 niches capable of accommodating 14,000 urns.

The mayor said the new chapels were equipped with ramps for persons with disabilities (PWDs).

The city's columbarium is capable of cremating four bodies per day.During the inauguration, the mayor paid tribute to her husband, former mayor Vergel "Nene" Aguilar, who initiated the "Libreng Libing" project for the underprivileged residents of the city.
