Govt service caravan goes to Zambales

BOTOLAN, Zambales: Local government officials here have launched on Friday, January 26, the 10th leg of the nationwide Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair.

During the press conference attended by Botolan Mayor Jun Omar Ebdane, Iba Mayor Irenea Maniquiz-Biñan, Gov. Jun Ebdane Jr., and 2nd District Rep. Doris "Nanay Bing" Maniquiz, the local officials lauded President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for his approval to hold the two-day event in Botolan on January 27 and 28.

Maniquiz also thanked Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez for supporting the service caravan.

The Bagong Pinoy Serbisyo Fair started in Biliran Province in August 2023. It aims to consolidate multiple government offices in delivering social services and programs to the people in the provinces.

In Zambales, Maniquiz said that at least 46 national government offices are expected to participate in the fair to provide at least 177 services to the residents.

"We are expecting about 80,000 clients to benefit in this two-day Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair," said Maniquiz, noting that the services are to be given simultaneously in all 13 municipalities and Olongapo City.

The lawmaker also said that the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair is the true picture of public service.

"We now feel that there is a national government at work, ready to provide service to the people even though it is not election period," Maniquiz said.

A flagship project of President Marcos, the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair is the largest service caravan that brings necessary services to the people right in their communities.

The service caravan include the granting of social assistance, financial aid, and regulatory functions, as well as financial grants like the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) and the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (Tupad).

Meanwhile, Governor Ebdane praised the President for having implemented a defined and clear plan for the country.

"We now be seeing the sun rising in the horizon, showering our province the opportunities that were long been delayed to be realized," he said.
