THE Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) is aiming to serve 150 million passengers this year as it continues to expand its route network across the country.

The multimodal transport hub, which currently accommodates 100 destinations, said Tuesday that it was looking to top the 127-million passenger volume recorded from 2019 to 2023 by expanding to at least six routes in 2024.

"We are thrilled to see this milestone come to fruition this year, and we owe it all to our passengers who have put their trust in our services," Jason Salvador, PITX corporate affairs and government relations head, said in a statement.

"We are committed to continuously improving our operations and services to provide a safe, convenient and seamless transport experience for everyone," he added.

Salvador told The Manila Times that this year, the country's first-ever landport was also planning to serve passengers going to Tuguegarao; San Carlos City and Dagupan City in Pangasinan; San Pedro and Southwoods in Laguna; and Guimaras in Western Visayas.

"The addition of new routes will contribute to PITX's mission of becoming the central hub for domestic transportation, enabling travelers to reach their destinations with ease. Whether it's visiting a familiar province, exploring new territories or embarking on business ventures, PITX will offer unparalleled connectivity to numerous destinations across the country," the company said.

"As PITX sets its sights on continued growth and progress, it remains dedicated to providing the highest level of service, prioritizing the needs of the passengers it serves."

PITX is a public-private partnership project between the Department of Transportation and businessman Edgar Saavedra's Megawide Construction Corp.

It is operated by MWM Terminals Inc. under a 35-year build-transfer-operate contract.
