2,400 families hit by floods, landslides in Davao City

The City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) in Davao City reported that approximately 2,400 families have been affected by flooding and landslides caused by the shear line. The affected areas include Gravahan, Barangay Maa, Monte Maria, Golden Valley, Tigatto, Waan, Mandug, and several other barangays. In addition to flooding, landslides were reported in various areas, resulting in the evacuation of 2,397 families and 8,555 individuals. The CSWDO, City Mayor’s Office, and non-government agencies are providing assistance to the evacuees, including hygiene kits and food packs. The CSWDO urged all barangays to activate their disaster response teams and remain prepared for further calamities. Furthermore, the office is providing support to families affected by the landslides, while cash assistance eligibility for landslide victims is pending pending the results of the Rapid Damage Assessment and Needs Analysis (Rdana).
