2 teens in councilor's slay in police custody

CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro: Two male teenagers implicated in the killing of Barangay San Vicente Central councilor Agustin "Doc Ting" Bolor are now in police custody.

One of the suspects surrendered to a local prosecutor at the prodding of his sister on Friday night, and the other was arrested by the police in an operation in Barangay San Antonio, also on Friday night.

The suspects are both 16 years old.

In a post on his social media page on Saturday, Gov. Humerlito Dolor announced the surrender of one of the suspects and the subsequent arrest of another.

The suspect who surrendered also returned 25 pieces of jewelry stolen from the councilor, and a cellphone was recovered from the arrested suspect in San Antonio.

Bolor, a dentist and a member of the LGBTQ community, was killed in his home on Jan. 15, 2024.

Police reports said that the victim sustained 50 stab wounds in different parts of his body.

However, there was no sign of struggle or resistance from the councilor, the police said.
