More than 3 million travelers screened at US airports in a single day; that's a record

Airport officers screened more than 3 million travelers on Sunday, setting a new record after the Thanksgiving holiday. The previous record was set on July 7. Airlines canceled about 120 U.S. flights, and more than 6,800 flights were delayed. The TSA had predicted increased air travel during Thanksgiving week, continuing a pattern of record travel in 2024.
