Top Trump aide accused of asking for money to 'promote' potential appointees

President-elect Donald Trump's legal team found that Boris Epshteyn, a key adviser, sought retainer fees from individuals seeking positions in the new administration. The review, led by David Warrington, revealed that Epshteyn asked Scott Bessent, a Treasury secretary nominee, for $30,000 to $40,000 a month to promote him at Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate, which Bessent declined.
