The United States conveyed to Qatar that Hamas's presence in Doha is unwelcome. This follows Hamas's rejection of a hostage deal proposal. Qatar, along with the US and Egypt, has been instrumental in mediating ceasefire talks in Gaza and negotiating the release of hostages held by Hamas.
