China pushes banks to speed approvals of new loans to private developers, say sources

Chinese regulators are urging banks to expedite the approval of new loans to cash-starved private property developers to revive homebuyer sentiment and alleviate lenders' asset quality. The "whitelist" mechanism, Beijing's latest support measure, aims to ease the sector's liquidity squeeze and stimulate home purchases.
