Ian Lavender, playing Private Pike in the Dad's Army, has died at the age of 77 years. Lavender was 22 years old when he was cast in the BBC sitcom and soon became a household name. Lavender grew up in the Midlands but has studied acting at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. Read The Rest at :
