The US and Iraq held their first round of talks on the future of US military presence in Iraq, with Baghdad discussing its expectations to lead to a timeline for reducing their presence. Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudas well as top-ranking officials from both the Iraqi armed forces and the US-led coalition met in Baghdad. The joint commission began bilateral dialogue to end the coalition in Iraq. Military experts will oversee ending the military mission of the Global Coalition against Daesh (ISIL) in partnership with Iraqi security and military forces. The US aims to set up expert working groups to investigate the threat posed by ISIS, operational and environmental requirements, and the growing capabilities of the Iraqi security forces.
