More than 50% of global chief economists anticipate a weakening world economy in 2024, according to the Chief Economists Outlook released by the World Economic Forum (WEF). The report highlights tight financial conditions, geopolitical tensions, and rapid advances in generative artificial intelligence (AI) as key factors. Around 70% of economists believe the pace of geo-economic fragmentation will accelerate in 2024.
