Farmers have expanded paddy cultivation by 4.28% to 33.18 million hectares for the 2024-25 kharif season, driven by favorable monsoon forecasts from the India Meteorological Department. However, cotton acreage declined to 11.05 million hectares. While pulses and coarse cereals saw slight increases, oilseeds remained stable.
