Bengal: Potato dispatches from cold storages surge by 35 per cent a day after traders withdraw strike

Following the end of a potato traders' strike in West Bengal, dispatch of tubers from cold storages surged by 30-35 per cent to meet demand. The Progressive Potato Traders' Association increased daily dispatches to 8 lakh packets from the usual 6 lakh. Traders aim to stabilize prices by adjusting supplies and refraining from exporting. The state government's involvement promises sufficient supply and lower prices, with a wholesale drop expected.
