MIB calls meeting of media and ad bodies to discuss self-declarations

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has scheduled a meeting on June 11 with media and advertising industry bodies to discuss the implementation of self-declaration certificates (SDCs) for ads. These certificates, to be issued by advertisers, will verify compliance with regulatory guidelines and absence of misleading claims in TV, print, digital, and radio ads. The meeting aims to address practical challenges in implementing the SDC mechanism, which becomes mandatory for all new ads starting June 18.
