The Department of Telecom (DoT) has directed major telecom operators to block 28,200 mobile handsets allegedly linked to cyber crimes. This action is part of a collaborative effort with the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and State Police to combat the misuse of telecom resources. The DoT has also instructed telecom companies to immediately reverify 20 lakh mobile connections.
