Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the first under-river tunnel of Kolkata Metro on March 6. The tunnel, with an internal diameter of 5.55 meters, will allow trains to ply 32 meters below the Hooghly river bed, reducing travel time for commuters from Sector V to Howrah, making Howrah the deepest metro station in the country.
