The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has fined Air India Rs 30 lakh following the death of an 80-year-old passenger who walked from the aircraft to the terminal due to a shortage of wheelchairs. The incident, which occurred on February 12, prompted the DGCA to issue a notice to Air India for violating regulations on the carriage of persons with disabilities.
