Vande Bharat train, running at 160 kmph, stops automatically before red signal in first 'Kavach' trial

The Agra railway division successfully tested an automatic braking system installed in eight-car Vande Bharat trains as part of the 'Kavach' anti-collision device. In the trial, the train automatically stopped 10 meters before a red signal at a speed of 160 kmph without the loco pilot applying the brakes. This parameter will now be standardized for all eight-car Vande Bharat trains nationwide. The 'Kavach' system, installed in all Vande Bharat trains, can automatically apply brakes if the loco pilot fails to do so.
