Nikhil Kumaraswamy from JDS will contest against Congress candidate CP Yogeshwar in the Channapatna assembly seat bypoll. The bypoll is necessitated by Kumaraswamy's resignation from the Mandya LS seat. BJP's BS Yediyurappa announced Kumaraswamy's candidacy.
