MANILA, Philippines — Several flights were affected in the provinces of Northern Luzon as Typhoon "Marce" brought moderate to heavy rain and gusty winds, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) reported Thursday.
CAAP said that, as of 5 a.m., the typhoon was in effect over Cagayan Valley, which led to the cancellation of six flights at Tuguegarao Airport and affected 968 passengers.
CAAP spokesman Eric Apolonio said all scheduled commercial flights and general aviation have been declared canceled.
Affected passengers of Cebu Pacific flights 5J504 - 180 passengers; 5J505 - 174 passengers; 5J506 - 183 passengers; 5J507 - 163; Philippine Airlines PR2014 - 130; and PR2015 - 139 passengers.
At Cauayan and Palanan Airports, non-scheduled flights were canceled.
Flights were grounded at Basco Airport, affecting 147 passengers.
Despite the weather conditions, the affected airports are operational, and no damage has been reported as of posting time, according to CAAP.
