The father of British pop star Liam Payne visits on Oct. 18, 2024 the tribute fans laid out outside the hotel where his son died on October 16. Geoff Payne observed flowers, letters, photographs and candles fans placed around a tree and thanked them as he stepped back into his hotel. Liam Payne, who shot to global fame with boy band One Direction, died after falling from a third-floor hotel room balcony, triggering an outpouring of grief from fans around the world. Prosecutors said an initial search suggested the fall came after substance abuse with alcohol and drugs. His hotel room was found in 'total disarray' with furniture smashed.REUTERS VIDEO
