MANILA, Philippines — Stunned by Letran the previous game, College of Saint Benilde channeled all its frustrations to its next opponent and demolished Lyceum of the Philippines University by 25 points, 103-78, in the NCAA Season 100 men's basketball tournament at the FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City on Friday, Sept. 27.
This is the highest scoring output by St. Benilde since coach Charles Tiu handled the squad in 2021.
"We're just happy how we shared the ball overall. It's good that we finally have an offensive game, because during the preseason we've been very good offensively, and right now we were struggling offensively, I think we were far from our potential," Tiu said.
'Hopefully, this game will give us more confidence to start scoring a little bit better."Allen Liwag registered a double-double output of 22 points and 12 rebounds for the Blazers.
Justine Sanchez added 18 points while John Morales churned out 10 points for St. Benilde, which led by 19 at the half, 59-40.
