Megaworld expects P145-B reservation sales by year-end

MEGAWORLD Corp. (Megaworld) hopes to reach its reservation sales target of P145 billion by year-end, even as its first-half record dropped to P68.5 billion from P76.1 billion in the same period in 2023.

"We expect our reservation sales to ramp up in the second half of the year," Megaworld head of investor relations Andy dela Cruz told analysts in a recent briefing, pointing out that demand is still strong, especially in key areas in the country where Megaworld has presence.

The listed property developer known for its townships will launch four new projects, following two previous ones introduced this year, dela Cruz said.

It aims to have a total of 35 townships by year-end, as the company celebrates its 35th year as a major real estate company.

Megaworld's 33rd and latest project is the P12-billion, 25-hectare integrated wellness township in Lipa, Batangas, a partnership with The Farm at San Benito.

It has P140 billion worth of available units across its brands, including Megaworld, Global-Estate Resorts Inc., Suntrust and Empire East.

The company's ready-for-occupancy levels increased to 26 percent from a third of unsold inventory from the past quarter.

As of Thursday, Megaworld shares stood at P1.92 apiece.
