MANILA, Philippines -- Sen. Risa Hontiveros urged the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) to cancel the passport of suspended Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo who left the country illegally amid pending criminal charges against her.

The senator on Tuesday condemned Guo, whom she described as a "fake Filipino" for "having the nerve to use Philippine passport to escape [the country."

"Her passport should be made null and void immediately," Hontiveros said in a statement. Guo, also known as Guo Hua Ping is believed to be Chinese.

"Cancelling her passport will limit her travels. And besides, she does not have the right to use a Philippine passport in the first place," she added.

Hontiveros, chairman of the Senate Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations and Gender Equality on July 13 cited Guo in contempt and ordered her arrest for refusing to attend the inquiry on alleged human trafficking at the Philippine offshore gaming operators (POGO) hub in Bamban.

Guo was also facing criminal charges for her alleged involvement in the illegal activities of POGOs in Tarlac.

In a privilege speech on Monday, Hontiveros shared information from the National Bureau of Investigation that Guo entered Malaysia on July 18 and then went to Singapore on July 21.

The Bureau of Immigration has since confirmed this, adding that the intelligence report from the agency's counterparts abroad verified that Guo also transferred to Indonesia after being in Singapore.

Using her Philippine passport, Guo arrived in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia past midnight of July 18, based on the travel records obtained by the senator.

According to Hontiveros, Guo then proceeded to Singapore where she reunited with her parents Lin Wen Yi at Guo JIanZhong. The couple flew in from China on July 28.
