Alas seized one of its three matches in the 4-team tourney, having won against Vietnam, 25-21, 25-22, 18-25, 25-23, on Friday.
The Philippines then lost to Indonesia, 23-25, 25-19, 25-11, 25-21, on Saturday and to Thailand on Sunday, 26-28, 14-25, 16-25.
A win against the Thais would have given the Filipinos a second place finish and a silver medal.
