UAE extends aid to Bulacan senior citizens

CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan — The 416 boxes of family food packs sent by the Royal Family of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have arrived in Bulacan for those affected senior citizens of Typhoon Carina.

The provincial government of Bulacan, headed by Gov. Daniel Fernando, on Thursday personally received the food pack assistance through the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

Fernando directed Rowena Tiongson, head of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, to prioritize the distribution to senior citizens who were heavily flooded.

The turnover of UAE aid was held in front of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office warehouse, city of Malolos.

Each box contains assorted foods such as pasta, sweet corn, green peas, red kidney beans, chickpeas, tuna, milk powder, wheat four, tea powder, rice, cooking oil, red lentils, dates, juices, oats, tomato paste, sugar and salt.

This is part of the more than 2,000 packs sent by the Royal Family to different areas in the country that were also affected by Typhoon Carina.

Fernando expressed his gratitude to the Royal Family of the UAE for sending these aids.

This year 2024 is the Golden Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between the Philippines and the UAE, which was established on Aug. 19, 1974 under the administration of President Ferdinand Marcos Sr.
