LAS PINAS CITY - Gerald Aguilar gave honor not only for the National Capital Region but also for his school University of Perpetual Help System Dalta and the City of Las Pin̈as by winning the gold medal in table tennis at the Palarong Pambansa in Cebu City on Sunday.
Aguilar, an incoming grade student, defeated John Paul Soriano of Region 1 in the finals, 11-6, 11-5 and 11-8 to dominate the secondary boys singles event for Team NCR.
Aguilar, who was also the NCAA Season 99 champion and Most Valuable Player for the Junior Altas, was coached by Kirby Colis and Jun Glorioso
Meanwhile, JR Castro, a member of the Perpetual Help track and field team, bagged the bronze medal in javelin throw with a distance of 56.45 in the 700 grams category. DENNIS ABRINA
