BACOLOD CITY — A total of P5,134,000 worth of suspected shabu were seized by police operatives during a buy-bust conducted by Bacolod City Police Office in Purok Mars in Barangay Singcang-Airport here on Wednesday night.
Maj. Eugene Tolentino, Police Station 8 commander, said the operatives also arrested drug suspects identified as George Jayme, 49, of Murcia town, and Dharryl Escanuela, 49, of Olongapo City, Zambales province.
Tolentino said Jayme, classified as a high-value drug personality, and Escanuela yielded an estimated 775 grams of shabu.
The two suspects are now detained at the Police Station 8 custodial facility.
Meanwhile, on July 2, the police also recovered 20 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P136,000 from Alvie Taco and Joseph Sapu-an in a buy-bust in Barangay Tan-awan, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.
The operation led to the injury on the right arm of PPSg. Iric Montoyo, according to the police.
The raiding team also recovered a caliber .45 Glock pistol and a caliber .22 revolver, both with ammunition, and a fired cartridge of caliber .45 pistol.
Four other drug suspects were also apprehended by the police in series of operations on July 3 in the cities of Sagay, La Carlota, and Kabankalan, as well as in Pontevedra, that resulted in the confiscation of more than 10 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated market value of P70,000.
