(UPDATE) THREE persons, including a newborn, were killed in Quezon while seven others were injured as Typhoon Aghon lashed Southern Tagalog, the Philippine National Police (PNP) reported Monday.
Police said the male newborn was found dead near the resettlement area in Pagbilao town. The two other fatalities were killed while they were sleeping when their houses were hit by fallen trees in San Antonio and Ibabang Iyam towns.
Office of Civil Defense Director Edgar Posadas said the deaths of the three persons were being validated.
Aghon unleashed heavy rains that brought chest-deep floodwaters in at least 11 villages in Mauban, Quezon.
Seventeen other areas in Lucena City were also flooded.
On Monday afternoon, the Lucena City Risk Reduction and Management Council reported that the flooding had subsided and affected residents were returning home.

In Barangay Dalahican, six families made up of 21 individuals who were threatened by rising floodwaters were rescued by the PNP Maritime Group and brought to a nearby elementary school serving as an evacuation center.
In Laguna, low-lying areas, including Barangay Dila and Mangyan in Bae town, were flooded, and a 1-kilometer stretch of road was rendered impassable to all types of vehicles.
In Batangas, strong winds ripped off the roof of a commercial establishment.
Strong winds downed electric poles and uprooted trees in San Juan, Batangas, triggering power outages.
In Aurora, Quezon, overnight torrential rains set off landslides in Baler town.
In the towns of Dingalan and San Luis, authorities advised residents in coastal municipalities to flee to higher ground because of possible storm surges.
Aghon also damaged 22 houses in Samar, although the residents who fled had returned by Monday.
In Bicol, a bridge was slightly damaged, disrupting traffic flow.
Power outages also hit parts of Laguna, Quezon and Metro Manila.
On Monday afternoon, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported that Aghon continued to move away from the Philippine landmass, although Signal No. 1 was still up over the eastern portion of Quirino (Maddela, Nagtipunan and Aglipay), the southern portion of Nueva Vizcaya (Alfonso Castaneda, Dupax del Sur and Dupax del Norte), the eastern portion of Isabela (Divilacan, San Mariano, San Guillermo, Jones, Echague, San Agustin, Ilagan City, Benito Soliven, City of Cauayan, Maconacon, Angadanan, Naguilian, Palanan and Dinapigue), Aurora, the northern portion of Quezon (General Nakar, Infanta and Real) including Polillo Islands, and the northwestern portion of Camarines Norte (Vinzons, Paracale, Jose Panganiban and Capalonga) including Calaguas Islands.
The typhoon was tracked 155 kilometers east of Casiguran, Aurora, moving east-northeastward at 10 kilometers per hour (kph) with winds of 140 kph near the center and gusts of up to 170 kph.
Aghon could leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Wednesday afternoon or evening, Pagasa said.
It would maintain typhoon strength over the next 24 to 36 hours as it moves northeastward over the Philippine Sea.
The typhoon continues to enhance the southwesterly wind flow, bringing moderate to heavy rains over Western Visayas and portions of Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan) in the next two days.
