COLLEGE of Saint Benilde (CSB) seeks to retain its dynastic reign as it shoots for the jugular against Letran on Sunday in NCAA Season 99 women's volleyball at the Filoil EcoOil Arena.
The Lady Blazers didn't leave no stones unturned as it looked sharp in the season opener last week when they dominated the Lady Knights in a 25-21, 25-15, 25-14 victory.
Michele Gamit, Gayle Pascual and Zamantha Nolasco took turns in slicing Letran to pieces by firing 14, 14 and 12 points, respectively, in Game 1 that gave it a 1-0 lead in their short but sweet series.
Another win in their 2 p.m. showdown would complete CSB's third straight 11-game championship sweep while extending its amazing streak to 40 straight triumphs that dated back to the pandemic-shortened 2020 season.
And expect Benilde coach Jerry Yee and his charges to go for the kill.
"There's one more game, we need to work hard. We have to work and secure this," said Yee.
It could also be the farewell games of the Lady Blazers' super seniors — Cloanne Mondonedo, Pascual, Gamit and Jade Gentapa.
A decider, if necessary, is set on June 1.
