SAN Miguel Beer could be in full strength by the time the team kicks off its PBA Season 48 Philippine Cup campaign on Friday, March 15, against Rain or Shine.
Aside from sweet-shooting Terrence Romeo's much-anticipated return, veteran forward Vic Manuel is hopeful he can play in the all-Filipino conference as he has recovered from an arthroscopic knee surgery last November.
San Miguel team physiotherapist Edward Bacason said the 36-year-old Manuel has joined the Beermen training camp in preparation for their Philippine Cup campaign.
"Still not 100 percent but he's already practicing with the team," Bacason said to The Manila Times.
Bacason said that prior to the surgery, the 6-foot-4 Manuel has experienced tightness, particularly on the lower leg muscles, due to wear and tear.
But with Manuel now cleared to play, the Beermen will have an added experienced player off the bench to provide quality minutes.
The 2018 PBA Mr. Quality Minutes easily brings a strong inside presence and defender for the Beermen, who are gunning for their 30th league championship.
San Miguel ruled the recent Commissioner's Cup after vanquishing Magnolia 4-2 in their title series.
